The start of DQ-mat's second funding period on 1 July 2020 fell in the middle of the Corona pandemic. Face-to-face meetings and conference visits were no longer possible, which made scientific exchange and the development of new ideas difficult. However, thanks to the funding proposal completed shortly before, a well-developed research programme was available for implementation.
On 30 September 2021, the majority of the 122 DQ-mat members (including 24 new members) met again for the first time for the annual meeting and general assembly - although still virtually via video conference. In nine lectures and a poster session, the progress and highlights of the past twelve months were presented and discussed, and plans for the coming months were outlined. The conference platform also enabled personal exchange and networking in a virtual lobby.
